Tickets may only be purchased at the venue on the night of the performance from 6.30pm onwards. Cash only - the theatre company has no facilities for processing credit or debit cards for ticket purchase. See below for group discounts.

Yes, we do discounts for groups - a group of 20 or more pay only $15 per head instead of $20 per head. Either way children 12 and under are free! Please ask for the discount at the ticket office when buying your tickets, or contact us in advance by email if you have a really large group. If the Shakespeare on the Green management declares the performance "rained out" after you have purchased your ticket, an announcement will be made advising you that the session is cancelled and your ticket will be revalidated as a rain-out ticket and that it can be used for another night later in the season (subject to capacity). It is only valid for the 2009 season.

You must hold on to your tickets and they must be intact. You must ensure before leaving the venue that Shakespeare on the Green staff have re-validated your ticket with the theatre company's stamp.

If rain or other bad weather causes cancellations on the last night of the season, there will be no refunds.

The performance starts at 7.30pm and ends around 10pm. There will be a 20-minute interval around 9pm. People are welcome to come early for dinner and drinks beforehand, and to take their drinks and takeaway food onto the green.

Seating is al fresco on the green, with a beautiful harbourside backdrop. We recommend you bring rugs and pillows.

This is a BYO event, so why not plan a picnic with friends before the show on the green with views of the harbour and city backdrop? Access to the green is from 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm

WAVERTON, BP Site, Waverton Park, Larkin Street

There are any number of restaurants in the area, try any of the Kirribilli restaurants, Blues Point Road in North Sydney or Willoughby Road in Crows Nest.

BIRCHGROVE, the Village Green, Mort Bay Park, McKELL Street

The Dry Dock Hotel is a proud supporter of the show and can be found at the corner of Cameron and Mort Streets.

It is the closest Pub/cafe to the show and you can choose from the takeaway menu at the Dry Dock Hotel and then just wander the 150 metres or so to the show.

The Dry Dock Hotel also offers a full bistro menu from 6pm. Sunday night is roast night - all welcome, just let the staff know you need to leave in time for the show.

BP SITE WAVERTON

BY RAIL - Waverton Railway station is an easy 5 -10 minute walk from the venue - to find your way from the station refer to the google map in the Venue page or just ask directions to Waverton Park and follow the concrete path towards the harbour - you will see signs and the crowd from there or look out for our staff will be on duty to guide you.

BY BUS - the 265 stops about 300 metres from the venue - just ask the driver to let you off at the corner of Woolcott and Larkin Sts, Waverton, follow the concrete path towards the harbour and look out for the crowds, the signs, and our friendly staff.

BIRCHGROVE - VILLAGE GREEN McKELL ST

There are lots of ways to get to McKell St, Mort Bay Park, by public transport - so many in fact that it is impossible to do more than give you the general idea (refer to the google map in the Venue page) - so here goes:

BY FERRY - this is the scenic way to travel! The closest ferry wharf is Balmain (Thomas St) about 250m from the venue or East Balmain wharf (about 1.2km) or Birchgrove (Louisa Rd - about 1.5km). All these are on the same route "Balmain and Woolich". Other stops include Greenwich, North Sydney and Circular Quay. BY BUS - There are lots of buses but the 441 is recommended as the most direct if coming from the city and drops you about a 2 minute walk from McKell St - check the State transit website for timetables, maps and other details http://www.sydneybuses.info/timetable/ but here is a quick summary:
